Delaware Love!

Welcome, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery!  Near and dear to our Delawarian hearts (our very own Ricky was born and raised in DE), we are stoked to have Dogfish Head grace our menus in SC!!  EVO is proud to carry the goods – make sure y’all try these amazing beers – we want them to stay and bring more of their super selection!   www.dogfish.com

Thanks to the H.J. Lee crew and Dogfish Head for a sneak peek and taste – good people, good beer…life doesn’t get better than that!  Safe travels, Claus!

Good stuff

EVO is featuring house cured salmon and really nice fire roasted mussels – very tasty!  We also have some nice local oyster mushrooms and local squash.  The guys made an awesome house made dark chocolate caramel mousse, quite heavenly I have to say!

Solid beers on tap and in the bottle – all the fall and winter beers are making their appearance…makes me feel like pumpkin picking, but the good ol’ SC weather keeps us sweating!  Ah, I love it here.

This week

A great house-roasted beef brisket on pizza with brie is gracing the specials tonight – good choice on a semi-rainy evening.

We have a nice organic carrot soup on the menu and a house made lemon panna cotta with blueberry coulis.

Super chocolates as always by Johnny! See specials above :)

We have the new Southern Tier 4/22 beer on draft in honor of Earth Day…it’s really good…light summery wheat ale – definitely give it a try!

Also – we have the new Rogue Captain Sig limited edition bottled beer in honor of ol’ Captain Sig from the Northwestern from The Deadliest Catch series on Discovery Channel (yeah, we’re big fans).

WE DID IT!

Thank you for all your support in passing the sidewalk dining ordinance.  Last night the majority voted yes to pass the ordinance!!  We appreciate all the effort and will continue to serve you great grub and drinks outside!

Thank you…

…to everyone for your support and words at the hearing to pass the ordinance for sidewalk dining.  We greatly appreciate it and hope that everyone who heard will understand how important this is to our entire community.

The next hearing will be on August 27th at 7:00pm at the North Charleston City Hall.  This will be the final hearing to make a decision so please come out, bring friends and speak if you can.  Just by voicing that you support sidewalk dining is a huge advantage for our entire community.  If you have any questions, come on by EVO and we’ll chat!!

Support Sidewalk Dining!

Please help North Charleston and support sidewalk dining!

The city is meeting on Aug 13th at 7:00 for anyone and everyone to support the decision to allow the service food, beverages and alcohol to be consumed on outdoor seating areas throughout North Charleston.  Show your support and come out and speak if you can!  See our facebook page for more details and please sign the petition at EVO – we all enjoy eating outside and hope to keep our beautiful city allowing us to do so.

Fresh this week

Homemade chicken soup with local butter beans this week, local butternut squash and local delicata squash.

We’ll have homemade ice cream popcicles dipped in chocolate and rolled in candied bacon this weekend!

Sweet Teeth Chocolate line up this week…salted vanilla caramel heart, dark chocolate bar leaf cardamom bonbon, milk chocolate organic lavender ganache, rogue smoked blue cheese truffle.

Goods this week!

We have some beautiful local figs, sc corn, local eggplant and local okra.  Local winter squash and heirloom pumpkins are already here (yes, no kidding) great stuff from Rita.  We’ll be getting some nice local butter beans tomorrow too!  Local Coast beer graces our menu as always-can’t get enough!  BTW – check out our facebook page (nice work, Mev!)

Fresh-e-ist

Good stuff as always – our great SC farmers never let us down :) local butternut squash, corn, sc peaches and watermelon grace our menu.  Gotta try the local peach calzone with local honey!

Can’t forget our own Mr. Battles’ famous chocolates – the classic caramel is always the one I grab first, but man, that new smokey blue cheese truffle…delish.  Nice work, Johnny, as always!

My family from Poland came in town this week (yes, straight off the boat, or plane, rather) and we ate like royalty at EVO.  Most of them don’t speak much english, but their ‘wows’ and ‘ummms’ were enough to let us know they were pretty happy.  They couldn’t believe how fresh it was, and coming from a farm in Poland, that’s a pretty cool compliment!

Just had to add this sweet moment – our Watkins picking produce for the restaurant at Rita’s Farm – thanks for all your hard work, Watty!

Features This Week!

Tonight Thursday 6/11/09, as always, the great Pulse Jazz Trio, but they bring us an even more special evening tonight with guest appearance by Lee Barbour!

Also this Saturday 6/13/09 features the EVOLUTION ART SHOW & BLOCK PARTY!
